Will treatment hurt?
Typically after major orthodontic treatment has commenced, you may be a little tender. This usually subsides after a few days. Talk to our friendly team for some tips and tricks for the care of your appliances.

What changes will I have to make to my lifestyle?
Our team will go through all the tips and tricks when your appliances are applied. Things to be careful of are some foods, drinks high in sugar and contact sports. Talk to our friendly team for options for a mouthguard if you need this.

Will I need X-rays?
X-rays allow our specialists to make informed and accurate treatment plans tailored to your specific dental requirements. The x-rays allow our orthodontists to check the roots of your teeth, and detect any dental abnormalities that may need to be addressed prior to orthodontic treatment commencing.

Is the initial consultation obligation-free?
Absolutely.
Once you see our team and they have discussed with you your options for treatment, the choice is completely yours. We pride ourselves on providing you with the information you need to make an informed choice for your own orthodontic journey.

What is the cost of a first appointment?
Our initial consult fee is $145.00. We recommend clinical photographs and x-rays to allow our specialists to accurately evaluate your specific orthodontic needs and talk you through the process.
Talk to our friendly staff for more details on our fee schedule. Some of these items may be claimable with your private health insurance so be sure to bring your details with you on the day of your consult.

How often will appointments be?
Each patient's needs are unique, so your appointment times may vary depending on your treatment plan.
Typically during the course of major orthodontics treatment we like to see you every 8-12 weeks. Depending on your location and treatment, you may be eligible for Dental Monitoring.

How long will my whole treatment take?
The length of time for any treatment varies however you can expect a typical treatment of Invisalign or braces followed by retainers to take around 24 months.

Do I need a referral?
Absolutely not!
Our first step is always for one of our orthodontic specialists to take a look at your specific situation. If you have a referral from your dentist they’ll definitely take this into consideration but it’s not required.

Am I too old/is it too late for treatment?
Absolutely not!
It’s never too late to consult with one of our specialists. Our orthodontists will assess your specific needs and discuss with you options for treatment.

How much will it cost?
Cost will obviously vary depending on treatment. Once one of our specialist orthodontists assess you at your initial consult, they will provide you a quote for the proposed treatment options for your specific orthodontic journey.
Our friendly team will discuss your payment options and discuss your quote with you in more detail to ensure you are given as much knowledge as possible to help you make the right choice for your journey.

Can I claim treatments with my health fund?
If you are with a private health fund, you will be given the item codes in your quote pack to check if they will cover a portion of your treatment.
We encourage you to speak with your private health insurer whether you have orthodontic cover in your plan.

Do you have payment plans?
Yes! Once our orthodontists have assess your specific needs, they will provide you with a quote for treatment and we are able to discuss with you your payment options.
Our patient liaison officer will go through your quote with you in detail to understand your payment options prior to any treatment commencing.

Should I use a manual or electric toothbrush?
Dr Linda Curl, Dr Richard Salmon and their team will continue to monitor your brushing technique and believe in good oral hygiene habits. Should you choose either a manual or electric toothbrush, that is totally up to you – it’s all in the technique!
